Body Imaging Services

Body imaging includes any type of imaging involving the lungs and organs of the abdomen and pelvis such as the liver, kidneys, spleen, gallbladder, as well as the stomach and intestines. Depending on the type of concern a particular test is chosen (eg. CT scans, MRI, ultrasound and fluoroscopy).

Some of the more common procedures are:

CT scans of the abdomen and pelvis – Generally performed for abdominal pain, focusing on organs such as the liver, pancreas, kidneys, adrenal glands, and intestines.

MRI of the abdomen – Generally have specialized imaging protocols for the liver, pancreas and biliary system, kidneys, and adrenal glands.

MRI of the pelvis – Is used in evaluating pelvic pain, pelvic masses, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, ovaries, uterus and prostate.
